5-7yo Program

Building focus, confidence, and coordination—one kick at a time.

At ages 5 to 7, children are going through a massive leap in physical coordination, attention span, and social development. Our 5-7yo program isn't just about punching and kicking—it’s a structured, high-energy environment designed to help young kids build essential life skills through the excitement of martial arts.

Key Benefits for Ages 5–7

1. Sharper Focus & Listening Skills

  • Multi-Step Directions: Exercises are structured to help kids listen, process, and follow 2–3 step instructions at a time.
  • Eye Contact & Awareness: Simple drills teach kids how to focus their gaze and pay attention to their instructor and surroundings.
  • Channeling Big Energy: We give high-energy kids a constructive outlet while teaching them when it’s time to move and when it’s time to freeze.

2. Motor Skills, Balance & Physical Foundation

  • Coordination & Spatial Awareness: Kicks, jumps, and stances develop bilateral coordination, left-versus-right awareness, and overall balance.
  • Agility & Body Control: Fun obstacle courses and movement drills build core strength, flexibility, and spatial orientation.
  • Fitness Made Fun: Kids stay active and burn energy without ever feeling like they’re doing a workout.

3. Emotional Regulation & Self-Discipline

  • Impulse Control: Games like “Statue Focus” and controlled movement drills help children practice patience and self-restraint.
  • Handling Frustration: Learning a new technique takes practice. We normalize making mistakes and trying again, building early resilience.
  • Respect & Courtesy: Bowing on and off the mat, saying “Yes, Ma’am/Sir,” and taking turns build strong habits of courtesy for home and school.

4. Early Confidence & Goal Setting

  • Bite-Sized Achievements: Kids earn tape stripes on their belts for showing effort, focus, and good behavior.
  • Public Speaking & Leadership: Simple exercises encourage kids to speak up proudly, count out loud in front of peers, and step into mini-leadership roles.
  • Positive Reinforcement: We catch kids doing things right to build their self-worth and intrinsic motivation.
